Ein bisschen träumen

            

Bei Ruth habe ich dieses YouTube-Video entdeckt und fühle mich voller Freude auf den Urlaub Ende Mai / Anfang Juni, wenn es wieder heißt: Up and away to the Highlands

Wer allerdings lieber Badeurlaub macht und schnorchelt oder schwimmt, für den ist die Isle of Skye eher nichts. Es dürfte immer zu kalt sein. Wärmere Gefilde finden sich dann eher hier auf einer der britischen Jungferninseln. 

Für wen das alles aber nichts ist, wer sich lieber ein paar Perlen der Weisheit antun möchte, der folge folgenden Worten von Stephanie Pearl-McPhee:

I am a traditionalist when it comes to yarn. I'm not really into the novelty stuff. I like natural fibers, I enjoy colors that exist in the natural world, and I like knitting them into pretty, classic things. That's why from time to time I took down at my basket in the yarn shop and am shocked to see that I've bought meters of sparkly pink eyelash or silver and gold ribbon yarn. It used to bother me - what was I doing with this stuff that was so ... not .. me? Now I know that for me it's the knitter's equivalent of hauling off and eating a whole pan of brownies when you would usually just have an apple.

Bei mir befindet sich manchmal auch solch Garn, mit welchem ich eigentlich nichts anfangen kann. Meist ist dies aber ein Geschenk gewesen. Da wollte mir jemand eine Freude machen...
